7-MODULE ONLINE COURSE • PLANNING TO PROMOTION
*** NEW LOW PRICE ***
“Thank you so much for the encouragement! I appreciate this course. You organize it in a way that makes this seem doable! Just as I need a personal trainer, I need someone to guide me along to get to the line.”
—Mary Louise Hagler, soon-to-be author of book title to come
This is a seven- module, self-paced online course for aspiring authors of nonfiction. It is taught on two tracks: learning and doing. In the first, you will learn how to plan, write, publish, and promote a book. In the second, you will apply what you have learned to your own book. You will also receive a copy of How to Write a Nonfiction Book: From planning to promotion in 6 simple steps, as well as individual feedback on each assignment from Bobbi, the instructor and author of the textbook.
Module 1: Introduction
This module sets the scene for what is to come. First, you will learn how the course is structured and the six steps in the writing-publishing-promotion process.
Module 2: Planning
Planning helps you organize your thoughts and work through every aspect of your book before you begin to write. You will test your book idea, draft an outline, and write a sample chapter summary.
Module 3: Writing
There is more to your book than just the chapters, and you will learn about all of them. You will also get organized, create a writing plan, and, best of all, start writing.
Module 4: Professional Partners & Production
Professional partners are the experts you may call on for help in writing, publishing, and promoting your book. You will meet several and learn about the activities necessary to take your book from finished manuscript to print-ready form.
Module 5: Publishing
There are many ways to publish your book and advantages and disadvantages to each of them. You will learn about your options and choose the one that best meets your needs and budget, explore literary agents, and learn about book proposals.
Module 6: Promotion
Promotion is the way you let potential readers know that you have a book, why they want to read it, and how they can buy it. You will map out a marketing plan and learn to promote your book using the World Wide Web and Amazon.
Module 7: Last Words
In Module 7 you will review the eight learning objectives for the course and plan how you will continue to work on them until your book is written, published, and promoted. You and I will also get together to evaluate your progress, as well as your experiences.
This is a self-guided course.
